Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the company's platform for chat, calls, meetings, and file sharing. You can use Teams either as a desktop app (recommended) or directly in a web browser. Both options use your Microsoft 365 account.

What you need

  • Your company email address (your.name@questcominc.com) and password
  • Microsoft Authenticator set up on your phone (for approval prompts)

Option A — Teams Desktop App (Windows)

The desktop app provides the best experience and is recommended for daily use.

Step 1 — Install Teams

Already installed?

Press the Win key, type Teams, and check if Microsoft Teams appears. If it does, skip to Step 2.

  1. Open Chrome and go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app.
  2. Click Download Teams.
  3. Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts.

Teams will launch automatically once installation is complete.

Step 2 — Sign in

  1. When Teams opens, you will see a sign-in screen. Enter your company email: your.name@questcominc.com.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Enter your password and click Sign in.
  4. Check your phone for a notification from Microsoft Authenticator and tap Approve.

Personal Account prompt

If Teams asks you to choose between a Personal account and a Work or school account, select Work or school account.

Step 3 — You're in

Teams will load your account and display the main interface with Activity, Chat, Teams, Calendar, and Calls in the left sidebar.

Stay signed in

On a company device, leave Keep me signed in checked so you don't need to re-authenticate every session.

Option B — Teams in a Web Browser

Use the browser version on any machine without installing anything.

Step 1 — Open Teams in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Navigate to https://teams.microsoft.com.

Step 2 — Sign in

  1. Enter your company email: your.name@questcominc.com and click Next.
  2. Enter your password and click Sign in.
  3. Approve the Microsoft Authenticator notification on your phone.

Personal Account prompt

If prompted to choose an account type, select Work or school account.

Step 3 — Use the web app

Teams will open in the browser. You have access to Chat, Teams, Calendar, and Calls from the left sidebar — the same features as the desktop app.

Allow notifications

When Chrome asks whether to allow notifications from Teams, click Allow so you receive message and call alerts even when the tab is not in focus.

Joining a meeting

Regardless of whether you use the desktop or browser app, meeting links work the same way:

  1. Click a Teams meeting link from an email or calendar invite.
  2. If using the desktop app, it will open Teams and join the meeting directly.
  3. If using a browser, you will be given the option to Open in the Teams app or Continue in this browser — either option works.
  4. Configure your microphone and camera settings in the pre-join screen, then click Join now.
